Construction Management · Owner's Representative
We manage the project.
You keep the outcome.
Structon is an independent construction management consultancy. We sit beside the owner and hold the line on schedule, cost, quality, safety, scope and function — from feasibility through handover.

01 — Discipline
What is construction management?
Construction management is a professional service. A dedicated CM is appointed by the owner to manage the project across its full life — feasibility, design, procurement, construction and handover.
The remit spans six recognised knowledge areas: schedule, cost, quality, safety, scope and function. A CM is delivery-method agnostic — traditional, design-build, CM-at-risk or integrated project delivery — and works alongside the architect/engineer and the general contractor without replacing either.
The CM does not build the work. The CM makes sure the work that gets built is the work the owner asked for, at the price and on the date they were promised.
02 — Position
The three parties — and where we sit.
Every capital project has three principal parties. Structon is appointed by the first, coordinates the second, and holds the third to account.
01
Owner
The client and asset holder. Bears the risk, keeps the outcome.
02
Architect / Engineer
Designs the works and specifies quality and performance.
03
General Contractor
Executes the works on site under contract.
Structon CM
We sit alongside the owner — independent from the architect and the contractor — coordinating all three parties so decisions serve the owner's outcome, not any single party's convenience.
03 — Scope
Six areas. One accountable partner.
Schedule management
Critical path planning, sequencing and milestone control.
Cost management
Budgeting, cost control and value engineering.
Quality management
Standards, inspection regimes and assurance.
Safety management
Site safety planning and structured risk mitigation.
Scope management
Change control and clear deliverable definition.
Function management
Ensuring the finished asset performs as intended.

04 — Evidence
Why owners appoint a CM.
Independent industry research over the last two decades has consistently shown that projects run with a dedicated construction manager working for the owner tend to spend less, encounter fewer serious problems, and deliver higher build quality than projects without.
The pattern holds across sectors and delivery methods. Owners who invest early in professional oversight recover the fee many times over in avoided rework, tighter programmes, and better long-run asset performance.
